Are Shoes Helping My Anxiety?

My EBay habit seems to be swaying towards Shoes these Days, maybe it’s because when I was a kid my Nan (I grew up with my Paternal Nan) couldn’t afford really cool shoes and would buy my Trainers from the Catalogue on Special occasions so she could pay em off weekly.

Shoes (like handbags) can be a great investment if you are willing to spend the money for a good pair. I have begun to search for Vintage and Sale Shoes that I can keep in bags and pass on for a tidy sum in a later life.

My Pure Leather Gucci Boots are one of the pair I had to have once I saw one of my closest friends wearing a pair. What most women don’t realise or they do but don’t speak it aloud is that these beautiful supple Leather crafted Boots are made for the more slender of leg and not of those with a wider calf span.

So this brings me into my Next Tip: Find Yourself a Good Cobbler, mine is called Dave and he is an independent Business Owned Cobbler (don’t go to Timpsons) and has experience in Leather and High Quality Stitching. I think me crying on his floor “Please don’t break my babies” gave him enough incentive.

If you are wondering what he did in the end he put me a whole new panel in so I could zip them up the man is a genius and i would never go anywhere else

I also have a Pair of Vintage Manolo Blahnik leopard print boots in their original dust bag that I managed to win on EBay for less than £100….I still can’t bring myself to wear them.

My Blue Bailey Ugg Boots I have had for over a year (bought for £48 second hand) and I practically live in them in the winter months but as much as they are called Snow Boots they have ironically have caused me to fall over in Icy Conditions more than any other Boots iv owned.

As I have gotten wiser (older) I now usually choose Function over Fashion for my Footwear when I can manage to leave the house and be amongst the Normals but it doesn’t mean I have to compromise with Quality and have replaced My Cheap Heels with Expensive Low heeled boots or I will style my outfit with a Timberland Boot or Rocket Dog Brogue.

I still have shoes that I cannot dare to part with or haven’t Evan worn and I also have my list of shoes I still want including Jimmy Choos and Christian Louboutin Red Soles…but I will also try to get them at the best price and in the best quality I can.

My Obsession with Ebay

When I have a Bad Mental Health Week or Day or Moment to be honest I retreat to my Happy Place. For some it’s bed and a bar of Chocolate, others opt for Ice-cream or beer, I have a friend who was a Vegi-Squarian for years and every time she had a Really bad day she would have a Big Mac (we started to call it her having a Big Mac Moment) so we all have our coping strategy, that one thing that makes you feel better after having a complete and utter inner meltdown.

Mine is EBay ,online shopping in general really, but EBay is my Favourite and this is why…

BARGAINS

Mostly for designer clothing and over the years I have gotten very good at it and have Evan contemplated sharing my wisdom with others but it’s just more people to get their elbows in on my bargains (hate EBay snipers, you know who you are!!)

A few of my best buys I shall share with you now and one of my top tips for finding these types of clothes. But first I shall share with you the reason I have a passion for High Fashion.

The Quality is just a lot better and lasts a lot longer and that is my only reason really and here’s a few examples….

First Bargain: Gucci Boots Size 6 (I had these boots altered for £20 at my local cobbler as they wouldn’t zip up fully) EBay Price £150

I could buy the same style of boots for £40 in Primark but they would not last as long I have now had them 2 years and they are still perfect.

Top Tip for Boots; keep them in a bag and get them re-heeled often (costs about £3)

Second Bargain: Glitter Prada Shoes infant size 8 worn once and smelt new £8

And my most recent bargain was a brand new pair of Pink Suede Timberlands Never worn (they smelt new and hadn’t Evan been laced up) £24.99

They retail brand new at between £80-£120

So Designer on a Budget Can be done and I can share a few of my secrets along the way.

All of the mentioned brands you have heard of, but I got a Philip Plein T-Shirt for £12 and would of never heard of this fantastic designer if I hadn’t of learnt this trick.

I have gone back over Old America’s Next Top Models Episodes and when I hear a new designer I write it down then I hit my ebay account and go on a search (this is just one of the things I do)

…and there it was, a worn once dress by a runway designer (Christopher Kane) that retailed at over £500 and i won it for £24 and it was such high quality and would last a long time.

Don’t get me wrong I have a strange habit of night EBaying (when I wake up anxious and must have an idea) and then mini pie tins and sample paints and selfie lights have turned up and I have No clue why but 7/10 I have consciously gotten some great stuff

So i Dare You to Try it and instead of buying new for your Christmas Outfit this year why not try EBay and grab yourself a designer bargain.

Who Am I?

Welcome to my new brainchild. Its a Story about a girl who was very good at pretending she had her shit together and then had a FULL ON (i mean Ross from Friends Style) break down but managed to claw her life (slowly) back together and realise what she has always loved (more than Cake) is Clothes and Fashion

I have recognised that in myself the way i choose my clothes can influence my mood and my perception of myself so i have started to discover my behaviour isn’t just isolated and other before me and I’m sure beyond me will share this relationship with Fashion and Materials.

I would like to welcome you along for the ride and on the way we can discuss not only clothes but the biggest Trend of the year Mental Health and how fashion has influenced that. I will be sharing my own personal story along with some others and welcome yours.

My opinions are my own and come with a dark but dry humour so if you are easily offended then this may not be the place for you, if your not then sit back relax (take your meds) and enjoy a glimpse into my inner Cray Cray. N
